Frequently asked questions
Why choose cold-pressed sunflower oil over the regular refined version? +
Refined sunflower oil is solvent-extracted and processed at high heat, losing most vitamin E and natural antioxidants. Cold-pressed sunflower oil retains the natural vitamin E content, has a subtle nutty aroma, and a soft golden colour rather than the colourless refined version.
Can I use this for daily Indian cooking? +
Yes. Sunflower oil is one of the most versatile cold-pressed oils — it has a light, neutral taste that doesn't compete with spices, making it suitable for all everyday Indian cooking: tadkas, sabzis, dal, dosa batter, and even baking.
Is sunflower oil okay for deep frying? +
Yes. Cold-pressed sunflower oil has a high smoke point and is stable for high-heat cooking including deep frying. It performs better when fresh — avoid reheating the same batch multiple times. For repeated frying, use a fresh quantity each time.
How much vitamin E does this oil contain? +
Cold-pressed sunflower oil is naturally one of the richest food sources of vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol). The exact amount varies by batch and growing conditions but is typically 35-40 mg per 100g. Refining removes most of this — our unrefined oil retains it.
Does it have a strong smell or taste? +
No — sunflower oil is the mildest of the cold-pressed oils. It carries a very subtle nutty aroma and almost no aftertaste, making it the best choice for buyers transitioning from refined oils who want the health benefits without a strong oil flavour.
