Traditional Cold-press oil • Suitable for everyday Indian cooking

Cold Pressed Groundnut Oil – Woodified Natura

Discover the natural richness of pure groundnut oil made the traditional way. Our 1L cold pressed groundnut oil is extracted from high-quality, unpolished groundnuts using a wooden ghani at low temperatures. This helps retain natural antioxidants, aroma, nutrients, and the true flavour of the peanut.

Use it confidently for everyday cooking — from deep frying to sautéing — thanks to its naturally high smoke point and stable fatty acid profile. The oil has a clean, nutty taste and delivers consistent results in Indian kitchens.

Ideal for

  • South Indian Cooking: Dosa, Chutney, Tadka for Sambhar, Rasam,  sabzis.

Frequently asked questions

What variety of peanuts is used in this oil? +

We use native (desi) variety peanuts, not the imported/modified high-yield variety found in commercial oils. Native peanuts have a higher oil content per gram and a richer, nuttier flavour profile that comes through clearly in the cold-pressed oil.

Can I deep fry with this groundnut oil? +

Yes. Cold-pressed groundnut oil has a naturally high smoke point and stable fatty acid profile, making it suitable for deep frying. Heat to medium-high, fry in batches, and avoid repeated reheating of the same oil for best results and flavour retention.

Which Indian dishes work best with this oil? +

Groundnut oil is the traditional choice for South Indian cooking — dosa, tadka for sambhar and rasam, vegetable sabzis. In North Indian cooking it works well for subzis, dal tadkas, and pakoras. The neutral nutty flavour does not overpower spices.

How is this different from refined groundnut oil sold in supermarkets? +

Refined groundnut oil is solvent-extracted (usually hexane), bleached, and deodorised — losing the natural antioxidants and characteristic peanut aroma. This cold-pressed oil retains its nutrient profile and has a soft golden colour and natural peanut fragrance, with a shorter 6-month shelf life.

Is this oil safe for those with peanut allergies? +

No. This oil is extracted from peanuts (groundnuts) and contains peanut proteins that may trigger allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. People with peanut allergies should avoid this oil entirely. Refined peanut oil is also not guaranteed allergen-safe.
